Dr. Burke was awarded an EMF/ACEP Value of Emergency Care Grant for $150,000. She will work on her project titled “Trends in the Cost and Quality of Emergency Care” at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Galarraga was awarded the EMF Early Career Research Development Grant for $149,951 over two years. She will work on her project titled “Impact of Global Budgeting & Pay-for-Performance Incentives on Emergency Care Delivery” at the MedStar Health Research Institute.

Dr. Schuur was awarded an EMF/EMAF Clinical Intensity Grant for $50,000. He will work on his project titled “Changes in the Burden and Workforce of Emergency Care in the US” at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Lin was awarded an EMF Clinical Intensity Grant for $50,000. She will work on her project titled “Evaluating ED Clinical Work Intensity and the Shift from Inpatient to Outpatient Care” at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Sabbatini was awarded the EMF Health Policy Research Grant for $50,000. She will work on her project titled “Consumer Driven Health Plans in the ED: Implications for Quality and Costs” at the University of Washington.

Dr. Kannan was awarded an EMF Pilot Research Grant for $50,000. He will work on his project titled “Pilot of a Novel World Health Organization Trauma Data Initiative” at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Mudd was awarded an EMF Pilot Research Grant for $50,000. He will work on his project titled “Evaluating the Impact of T Cell Responses Directed Against Influenza Virus” at the Washington University.

Dr. Musey was awarded an EMF Pilot Research Grant for $50,000. He will work on his project titled “SMS Messaging Follow-up Evaluation for Subjects with Low-Risk Chest Pain Associated with Low-Rick Chest Pain Associated with Anxiety” at Indiana University.

Dr. Samuels-Kalow was awarded an EMF Pilot Research Grant for $49,380. She will work on her project titled “Unmet Social Needs in the Emergency Department” at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Mamtani was awarded an EMF/CORD Emergency Medicine Education Research Grant for $25,000. She will work on her project titled “The Gender Gap: A multi-site, mixed method study exploring gender differences in feedback to EM trainees” at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Akhavan was awarded an EMF/EMRA Resident Research Grant for $9,200. He will work on his project titled “Assessing the Prognostic Value of Lactate Levels In The Presence Of Ethanol” at the University of Washington.

Dr. Arnold was awarded an EMF/EMRA Resident Research Grant for $9,140. She will work on her project titled “Use of the Pulse Oximeter Plethysmograph Waveform to Measure Ankle-Brachial Index” at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Ms. Swanson was awarded an EMF/SAEMF Medical Student Research Grant for $5,000. She will work on her project titled “Rural Pediatric Trauma Undertriage: A Statewide Administrative Data Pilot Project” at the University of Iowa - Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine.

Ms. Goldsmith was awarded an EMF/SAEMF Medical Student Research Grant for $5,000. She will work on her project titled “Effect of Tadalafil on Reepithelialization of Partial Thickness Porcine Burns” at Stony Brook University.

Mr. Scheving was awarded an EMF/SAEMF Medical Student Research Grant for $5,000. He will work on his project titled “Examining Emergency Department Delays for Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke” Vanderbilt University.

Mr. Zalesky was awarded an EMF/SAEMF Medical Student Research Grant for $5,000. He will work on his project titled “Improving ED care for Patients with a Possible mTBI using Clinical Decision Support” at the Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hackett was awarded an EMF Emergency Medicine Basic Research Skills (EMBRS) Workshop Grant for $5,000. He will work on his project titled “Ketamine for the Treatment of Primary Headache in the Emergency Department vs. Standard Therapy with Metoclopramide” at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

Dr. Summers was awarded a EMF/NIDA Mentored Training Award in Substance Use Disorders Science Dissemination Grant for $12,000. He will work on his project titled "Implementation of Emergency Department Buprenorphine Protocol and Provider Toolkits" at the University of California, Davis.

Dr. McElhinny was awarded a EMF/NIDA Mentored Training Award in Substance Use Disorders Science Dissemination Grant for $12,000. She will work on her project titled "Creation and Dissemination of Opioid and Harm Reduction Curricula for Clinicians" at Maricopa Integrated Health System.
