Rapid Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental Health Issues in Older Patients
Funded by a grant from the Allergan Foundation, EMF and ACEP have developed the ADEPTool, an online diagnostic and treatment tool for emergency physicians that will quickly guide them through pre-identified steps for treatment of various mental health conditions, particularly as it pertains to agitation among the elderly.
Using a simple acronym to provide quick assistance for the daily practice of emergency medicine, the ADEPT tool encourages physicians to: A - Assess; D - Diagnose; E - Evaluate; P - Prevent; T - Treat
